François Lauzier
Dr. François Lauzier is an Associate Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care, Division of Critical Care Medicine, and the Department of medicine at Université Laval.
François Lauzier is an associate professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care and the Department of Medicine at l’Université Laval. He practices critical care and internal medicine at the CHU de Québec-Université Laval (Hôpital de l’Enfant-Jésus). He is a scientist in the Population Health – Optimal Health Practices axis (Theme: Trauma – Emergency – Critical Care) of the CHU de Québec Research Centre. He is an active member of the Canadian Critical Care Trials Group (CCCTG) and of the Intensive Care Research Group of the Respiratory Health of the FRQ-S.
Dr. Lauzier completed his medical training, his internal medical residency (CRMCC program) and his masters’ thesis in clinical research at l’Université de Sherbrooke. He then completed an intensive care residency (CRMCC Program) and a clinical-research training at McMaster University. He is currently holding a clinician-scientist Junior 2 career award from the Fond de recherche du Québec-Santé.
Dr. Lauzier’s research program focuses on pituitary problems related to traumatic brain injury and subarachnoid haemorrhages. He is also studying the prognostic evaluation of severe traumatic brain injury patients and in the decisional process leading to level of care decisions in these patients. He is also interested in thromboembolic diseases, hemorrhagic complications and prevention of infections in the ICU.
