John Marshall is a Trauma and Acute Care surgeon and intensivist at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto, and a professor of surgery at the University of Toronto.
A member of the Canadian Critical Care Trials Group since its launch in 1989, he has served as its Chair since 2005. He is an executive committee member of the International Severe Acute Respiratory Infections Consortium, and has previously served as president of the Surgical Infection Society and chair of the International Sepsis Forum. He has authored more than 250 manuscripts and 80 book chapters, and been an invited speaker at more than 400 national and international symposia. He is married with one daughter.
