Mike Hickey

Mike is pursuing a Clinician-Scientist track in Emergency Medicine and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Ottawa, where my time is split between these clinical disciplines. I obtained my medical degree from Memorial University in Newfoundland, and post-graduate training at the University of Ottawa.  MSc in clinical epidemiology at the University of Ottawa with intended graduation in 2019. Diploma in Deceased Organ Donation Science through TGLN, Ontario's organ procurement organization. Research interests include exploration methods to increase organ donation, methods of diagnosis of neurological death, controlled and uncontrolled donation after cardiac death (DCD), blood component transfusion in the emergency department and advancing the science of cardiac arrest resuscitation.   Canadian Critical Care Trials Group member since 2017.  I am also a member of the Canadian Critical Care Society and Canadian Association of Emergency Physicians.
