Dr. Oliver Karam is an Associate Professor in the Division of Critical Care Medicine of Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU.
Dr. Oliver Karam is an Associate Professor in the Division of Critical Care Medicine of Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU. After training in pediatric critical care in Geneva and Montreal, he obtained a Master in Science degree and then a PhD clinical research, for his work on transfusion medicine in critically ill children. Dr. Karam has published over 50 peer-reviewed articles and has contributed to many chapters in pediatric critical care textbooks. He is also the Chair of BloodNet, the largest pediatric blood research network. Dr. Karam’s clinical interests lie in sepsis, acute liver failure and extracorporeal life support.
